David Krakauer

David Krakauer is the Director of the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery, professor of genetics at UW-Madison and external professor at the Santa Fe Institute. His research focuses on the evolution of intelligence, from the Big Bang to Brains. A graduate of the University of London and Oxford University, he has authored more than 150 scientific publications, serves on several journal editorial boards and works to bridge the gap between academia and business. Krakauer’s vision drives WID’s nondisciplinary, information-rich environment aimed at addressing some of the world’s most pressing problems. Krakauer has worked collaboratively with several business partners including Google, Boeing, Fidelity and Intel. In 2012, he was included in Wired UK's "Smart List" as one of 50 people who will change the world.
