Single women are the most potent political force in America today. Rebecca Traister explains why young millenial women are delaying marriage -- just as Susan B. Anthony predicted.

I was listening to this interview on the radio, and heard it said that women today are delaying marriage until their 30s or later, "because they can."
I would submit that a stronger reason is that there is no longer as much advantage to getting married as there was in the past. It seems like many or most married couples both have to work to make ends meet these days, and it makes sense to me that this might make women more inclined to stay independent.
