The Drive-In turns 78!

The Drive-in turned 78 this week and it got us thinking about movies. And movie experiences. Because let's be honest the drive-in isn't the best movie viewing or movie listening experience. It's no Avatar in the movie theatre. Avatar was stunning  in all of its 3D wonder.

But what do we lose all ensconced in our perfectly designed movie theatre seats with impeccable sound systems and stunning special effects?  Film Critic Roger Ebert says we miss a lot. He muses on the glories of black and white films and mourns what we've lost since modern audiences only see movies made in color.
