One Professor Crosses St. Louis’ Racial Divide
June 11, 2017

August Jennewein (UMSL)
Bob Hansman frequently travels between starkly different worlds. By day, he’s an architecture professor at an elite university, his classes largely filled with affluent white students. But his home is in St. Louis’ inner city, where he lives among the largely black community that welcomed him with open arms.
He spoke to Steve Paulson about the generosity and love he received by opening himself up to the “other St. Louis.”
